OK. The Eurobond delayed to float all the cargo. Nonetheless, we can ID CIC & NBK for capital gains this half year. The rest we know that dividend income Tuko Fiti. Well compounded. Bonuses where applicable.

Is the company above Kenya Re?

Hi folks.

First, it's to commend all for putting in the research and energy in getting to understand this business better. I'd say that of all stocks on the NSE, none has broadened my perspective as Kenya Re has done.

I believe that roots from its design of a 45 country, 160 insurance counterparts Operation. Taking us to Africa, Mid-East to Asia.

Now, that brings risk/reward dynamics, mostly country risk, that can be tricky - especially coming from what we have been used to i.e local & or x-border buses.

Nonetheless, I still believe O&G is a Trump Card that can improve fortunes significantly as follows: Oil and gas finds lifts western Indian Ocean prospects

As the above actualizes, I came across this article that put Kenya Re's dynamics in proper perspective. I now have greater respect for Team Kenya Re smile

All I can say is that, the share price never seems to go anywhere as such? I've tracked it for 4 months with huge interest and failed to get on board. This one is for real long term, good fundamentals but no capital gains in the short term. I don't seem to understand the drag or what's a good price to jump in at.

Well, have the Westgate payments been finalized? I doubt. And if Kenya gets hit with more terrorist attacks the KenRe suffers. Going from Mpeketoni to Mombasa is not that hard for the al-shabaab and friends.

I was pleasantly surprised when i got the dividend cheque so staying put. Quite a good dividend yield compared to some other insurance counters which seem to have more fluidity in the market.

I have a few shares in Kenya Re

I would like to buy more at the current prices but i wonder why it trades at such low PE compared to other insurance companies

Is it really that undervalued or are there other risks that investors see?

what are the prospects going forward? when does the mandatory ceasation of premiums stop?

Would appreciate your comments

I keep on buying this share based on its valuation and dividend yield....I think it is undervalued. However, I am eagerly waiting to hear what other wazuans have to say about it

some of the money minting projects of kenya re will come on line in 3 years time. I like the dividends, and will keep buying in small amounts
