Why were you warning me about I&M. That's +17% vs your estimate. Plus this is just I&M Kenya (KE + TZ) whereas I&M Holdings PAT is even higher since both RW and MU made a profit.

Interesting that DTB, BBK and STB all made 2.7bn ;-)

At best it would be "investing in GoK bonds" not "investing in GoK" and in any case, it's about the semantics. Banks are lending GoK money.

Hapa siwezi ongezea lolote.. GoK cannot be a borrower to the bank being that in some instances it isn't even a customer of the bank that purchases the paper. Even on the balance sheet such transactions are never listed as loans. Neither do the banks maintain provisions on such 'lending'

Remember in May when i told you kcb will post higher profits than Equity bank come half here.
The verdict is out.
Equity was ksh.1bn more than KCB in Q1 but come Q2 KCB is sh.1.7bn higher.
