HUGE increase in NPLs y-o-y though better than 2Q. I am staying away on account of the ambiguity of the dilution from the Preference Shares.

There is no other share in East Africa that has had as many dividends, splits and bonuses than Stanbic Uganda.. Sometimes I wish I would have held on to my purchase a little longer

@obiero,

True, I too wish I had stayed in a little longer. I participated in the IPO, and even though the allocation to foreigners was capped, I did make some meaningful returns. I sold all my shares thereafter. Then re-entered. At the time of the share bonus, I was out. Now, that I am based in Kampala, this is my favorite stock here. Accumulating at at price up to UGX 30.

A friend of mine had a dividend cheque that he didn't know what to do with it as it was in UG shillings and he is in Kenya. It eventually got lost! He tells me StanBic Bank and his broker, D&B, could not help.

I received a number of cheques when I was in Kenya, and had no problems cashing them. Only problem is they took too long to be cleared and I received very low exchange rates. If you have significant dividends say over ugx 600k, you shouldn't allow your cheque to get lost. Also note that in UG, dividend tax is 10%.

Even if the cheque was lost. Value wasnt drawn hence your friend can reach the registrar whose contacts I have availed. The cheque will be replaced at no charge! As for encashments, KCB accepts UGX but charges a minimum commission of about KES 1,200!

I expect 300 - 400 million PBT by the end of the year! But mine is no "exchange bar" but rather an educated guess!

They released 168 million In H1 I think..

I knew some information had leaked...no apparent reason for the rally
