CCK conducted a survey where Safaricom emerged number last on all aspects ....

http://allafrica.com/stories/200911130846.html

'From the end-users perspective, the low quality can be observed as problems with bad quality of voice and call disconnects during conversations and long call set up times,' states the report referring to the Safaricom network.

And today i cannot make calls cauze the network is down...2nd time in less than 30days. Michuki said it...be careful with this Safaricom/Mpesa thing....

May be a single booster serving the area you are has a fault. I have not noted anything wrong with their network

I was very pissed off by SafCon over the weekend. I dial an Australian number,it just rings - it isn't picked,no diverts, nothing!!!! Then on checking my credit,SafCon has deducted almost 200/=. I call customer care and they tell me they normally update their records after an hour - call later. This I do and the jamaa tells me their record ahows the call went through and hence the deduction. I tell him it didn't,I'm put on hold.... finally he tells me someone will call me. I'm called after some time by someone who is not very helpful, asked a couple of questions and she promises to get back to me - which she doesn't!! Yesterday I try to call the same number (which I have successfully been calling before last week) and again it chews my credit before the call goes through! I call customer care again and they tell me to hold on to my horses until 48 hours are over - that's the normal/average time they take to respond to such issues. 'Your issue has been forwarded!'. In the mean time,my credit is gone plus I can't dial the number coz the same problem keeps recurring - what the hell??

By the way, which is the cheapest line when it comes to international calls? I really have to move from SafCon. Fifty bob a minute to call Australia for example is nothing short of highway robbery!!!

There is such a wide range of service providers, you switch to another! why do you have to go yelling allover that a service is bad when you have so many choices,VUKA,move to the better one,go enjoy better services elsewhere.

you might have been billed because the call was picked up by the exchange on the other side. similar to when your call goes into voicemail

MaichBlack,

I've been using Telkom Wireless Voip service for my international calls since 2006. My calls to Europe (Mobile!) are charged at about 11 per min. The good thing is that the folks calling me incur lesser bills coz the wireless number is somewhat thought of as being a Landline.

There used to be an offer for even lower rates on some day of the week (either Wed/Thursday),not sure if it's still there.

That aside, both Zain & Safaricom have Voip services. Dunno about the charges though.

I came,I saw and was overcharged.

@Why lie - in as much as I hate SCOM,when you write 'CCK conducted a survey where Safaricom emerged number last on all aspects ' I have to draw the line about what I hate and in this case it is misinformation - that in actual FACT its not a CCK study!!!! Please state facts - this is unwarranted....having said that,I do not need a survey to tell me that safaricom is crap.

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less
