I decided to stay home this morning and happened upon parliamentary debate on milk producer prices.
My overall opinion: our MPs are thoroughly ignorant! But that's not news, is it?
The motion is urging government to increase producer price of milk from sh27 to "something higher"
The basis of argument is that the market price of water is higher than that of water!
Well, yes if you are an MP who buys Keringet bottled water at sh50 per half-litre while the rest of us buy City/Municipal water at about Sh100 per 1,000L; that is 10cents per litre....
Secondly, none of these MPs have a clue where the money to increase the producer prices will come from. One has suggested "government subsidy to cushion consumers" but obviously not saying where the money will come from.
God help us!
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
