BEIJING, Sep 18 – China has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to heed the pleas of African nations and the African Union with respect to the trials of Kenyan leaders, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said here on Wednesday.
Spokesman Hong Lei made the remarks at a daily news briefing in response to the ICC trials of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

β€œWe have noticed that there are different voices in Kenya on the ICC trials, and that quite a few African nations have raised serious questions about the trials,” said Hong.

President Kenyatta and Deputy President Ruto were elected by Kenyans in a free vote, Hong said, adding that an African Union summit in May urged the ICC to transfer the trials of Kenyan leaders to Kenya.

β€œWe hope the international community will respect the Kenyan people’s choice, and the ICC will heed the advice of African nations and the African Union,” he said.

ICC or Kenya, are the Kenyan people really united in what they want?Isn't disunity what got us here in the first place?

American Top leadership (Bush –Obama) should be the ones on trial at the Hague for atrocities committed before we discuss who should bear greatest responsibility for the Kenya Cases

1. Iraq

2. Libya

3. Palestine - Israel

4. Tunisia and

5. Egypt stand up

6. Na Syria Bado image coming shortly

Why are you trying to compare what is incomparable?

I will gladly oppose ICC if they came for our brave soldiers fighting to secure kenya's interests in somalia. I will shamelessly ignore any
atrocities they may commit while fighting for my security. And thats how i view US soldiers in iraq and afghanistan.

But your suspects hacked innocent kenyans using machetes imported from china. How did that advance kenyan interests?

If you tried that in the USA, justice would be swift and ruthless.
