Quote:
IEBC has taken us through a catalogue of errors that question the credibility of the election. It must be held accountable, no matter who wins or loses. For it has taken the trust we had in them, and trashed it. Or in the words in a letter to the editor in a daily, “the IEBC has become the ECK.”

Quote:
And there are more issues with lack of information and lack of transparency leading to rumours like we witnessed in 2007.

Are all these errors deliberate? And even if not, if this was a doctor treating a patient would this not be sufficient evidence of malpractice? And do they sufficiently impugn the credibility of this election?

These are very serious allegations. Kenyans have faith in the IEBC but someone out there wants us to start saying IEBC is like ECK. Who exactly does Maina Kiai represent coz am damn sure its not Kenyans anymore!

"IEBC now says—after a long silence--that this difference in rejected votes is because of software misconfiguration that multiplied the figures by 8. Hello! Did they not test this before using it? And why are the actual votes for candidates not multiplied by 8 as well?"

What is the basis of this last question? It's like someone saying they had a puncture in their left rear tire and you saying to them, why not in the right front one also? Completely illogical.

That said, IEBC took a rather long shot in implementing so much technology in a short amount of time especially given the high stakes involved. But cut them some slack, at least they had the presence of mind to have (hopefully) reliable contingency plans every step of the way. While we should not condone mediocrity, we have to be sensitive to the circumstances under which all these things have had to be done.

Expect this from people like him and many more. They are finding it difficult to believe that their end month pay is no more. Its very difficult.

He may be but he should stop the rhetoric and lobby actively for something to be done. Writing newspaper articles only just becomes an irritant.
