Season 1 was hijacked by too much emotion regarding the status of women in our society and my presumed stand about it. So I beg to re-start the thread again and this time invite wazuans to also state what they are not OK with for each presidential candidate.

Please, let us be careful when commenting on another persons posting so as not to derail the thread like happened in season 1.

Here goes my opinions again:

1.Dida: Completely green. Doesn’t have a clue of how to run a government. He is in the race for self entertainment!

2.Kiyapi: Technocrat who doesn’t appreciate the finer points of political balancing acts.

3.Mather Karua: Not married; I believe that marriage has a way of moderating a person’s character...whenever I do things, I find myself considering whether my actions will embarrass my wife.

4.Mudavadi: He doesn’t seem to know of what to do if he becomes president. His "safe pair of hands" slogan reminds me of people who tell you "trust me" - they are always the untrustworthy kind!

5.Muite: Too legalistic in my view. Thinks he can solve all problems using just the law!

6.Peter Kenneth: Idealistic – thinks he can replicate what he did in Gatanga on a national scale; but the nation is a much more complicated matter and he doesn’t seem to appreciate that.

7.Raila: Easily swayed by crowds [remember the “Kibaki anatosho” proclamation made only 16 hours after signing a coalition agreement with Nyachae?]. I can’t trust him to make thoughtful decisions.

8.Uhuru: Easily swayed by his close associates [remember the shetanis that told him to give way for Mudavadi?]. He is not “his own man”. I can’t trust him to make independent decisions.

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

@mukiha
I'm happy to post here as well. smile
A person doesn't make a bad leader because they are married or single ( by choice, divorce or through being widowed).
And people do not make better leaders because they are married. We had loads of those in the last Parliament.
If we think otherwise, we deserve the leaders we get...they'll reflect our collective wisdom or lack of it

@Mukiha, pardon my asking, but why are we specifically talking about things that are 'not okay'?

Can the thread help us to evaluate our candidates?

The safe pair of hands slogan upsets me. It suggests that as Kenyans, we are too timid to try the "unknown" e.g. By experimenting with a new breed of leaders.
Status quo has gotten us nowhere so far. We need something new, something radical. Not more of the same old.

@mukiha from your analysis it seems to me that ole Kiyiapi has the most acceptable weakness amongst the lot.

Yes it can. It is good to know what is not right with the person you are voting for. Talking about their good side alone doesn't give the complete picture.

It can help.
We sometimes make decisions by elimination.

I am not aware of a standard measure of fault, or goodness. So I fear most of what we'll say will be misleading. Rumors, biases, distorted truths will come in.

Starting another thread on 'positives' will exhaust us, I fear.

Can you allow one to defend their preferred candidates but also show their faults?

I believe no one knows the other's fault than the friend.

Hahaha! Then we'll rush at our enemies quick!

'Eliminate' them!
