I understand the demolitions relate to land row in a block near acacia about 15 houses affected.

UN-confirmed reports indicate that the Tittle holder to the Land, got eviction orders as the Houses were erected on the land without their consent.

Assuming this to be so. I find it Callous to bring down 15 houses especially on Private land.

Couldn't a monetary compensation settle matters.

Jury remains out!

Thanks @jamplu it’s confirmed it’s a land row and nothing to do with the government.

I hear the owner was out of the country for a while and when he came he found houses on his land. He asked the guys who had built to compensate him for the value of the land at current market value and two guys agreed and 15 refused.

Due dilligence is the only solution...but then again, when all concerned authorities are compromised, to whom shall we run? Very sad indeed.

The value of property in Syokimau has continued to rise – but only if you have a valid genuine title (and not allotment letter). I was disposing a piece near the area demolished recently and I got a handsome offer.

If it’s along the Syokimau - Katani road you will easily get about 2.5M

I heard that someone (a Mr. Waititu) got into an agreement with the owner of the land to buy it. Waititu then went ahead to subdivide the land and sell it to the owners of the demolished houses. Apparently Waititu did not complete paying for the land even as he sold it to the house owners. The original owner then got a court order to evict the owners of the demolished houses.

You can hear anything but how do you build a house on land that you do not have title!!!

The land in my knowledge was being sold by former Dandora Councillor Mwangi Waititu through His Komarock Land Buying Company . A friend of mine had His house demolished in the 1st phase.
