We need the "knowledge" applied i.e wisdom.

Otherwise any Tom & Dick can provide text book answers!!

A sad day for our democracy. If reliably true, this confirms the old practice in Africa that those who fought for liberation; once in power, become real oppressors of the people and suppressors of democracy

After the ODM NEB yesterday announced that nominations did not take part in Kisumu, Migori and Homabay, why is anybody surprised????

There's a book this Prof. wrote in collaboration with the late Prof. of ICIPE (I'm not sure of the name) and the two were talking about why democracy doesn't seem to work in Africa. They gave many reasons but forgot to add the one shown here.

African 'peasants' are too ignorant to choose wisely. Hence countermeasures have to be taken to rectify this problem.

And given that this belief is so widespread, how can we expect to have free and fair elections?

Again, if this Prof. has lost, but again imposed on the people, whose interest is he pursuing and what interest is it?

But now I know that we are mostly engaged in charades and red herrings while the real politics is played elsewhere.

ODM leadership appears to be the biggest stumbling block to democracy in Kenya. Citizens should be free to choose their own leaders.

Disruptions!!!

Someone told me that there were 'swapped' ballot boxes (names for polling stations did not match the markings on ballot boxes) then disruptions ensued.

If this is true, then something must be wrong. I don't expect the 'humble' peasant to get angry over this alone!

And why is the Prof. the default candidate?

And how does this explanation link with your comments on a previous and related thread that the Prof. and some sitting M.p.s are the sources of trouble?

Just seen a list of ODM aspirants which i dont know if its true.

On it the winner of Mathare Parliamentary Steven Kariuki. Isn't that the son of Bishop Margie Shiru? I thought he lost.
