The people accusing Kenyan politicians of being tribal or always playing the ethnic card are missing the whole picture, "It's the voters who are tribal".
As the old says that you can never become a leader anywhere in the world, without the backing of your own community.
Check the US Presidential elections and you would see each winning canditate need first to sell himself/herself either to his hometown community,its main religion beliefs before getting endorsement across other states -e.g. Obama received more than 90 per cent of black and minority votes, while Reagan and Kennedy received majority of catholic and irish votes.
This trend of voting, which seems to be the mode all over the world will be there for along time, and it's time we accept the reality whether we like it or not!
