Washington state lit up yesterday. It is now legal to smoke recreational marijuana in many states in the US. Flower tending is surely going to change!

Hehehe ...many rules and regulations come along with the legalization (or decriminalization) of marijuana; for instance, there are limits to the amount you can produce, amounts that can be in your possession or person, there are variants that remain banned (depending on active drug content, LD50 (toxicity) etc etc), there are restrictions on where you can smoke it - think places where the intoxication cannot reach someone else, ..there are other tough rules governing sales and distribution (selling mostly remaining criminal - you smoke the pot you produce ..
My point in brief is it is a hassle, many don't bother, and proceed as they did when it was illegal, as opposed to the common perception of streets bathed in a marijuana haze as people smoke all willy-nilly.
Besides, possession of small amounts of marijuana in the US and most of Europe is a minor offense/misdemeanor , not a 10 year jail sentence like in Kenya.

So lets go poetic:

A friend in weed is a friend indeed.
A friend indeed is a friend in weed.
A weed is a friend indeed
Indeed a friend is a weed
A friend is a weed.
A weed is a friend.

This herb is worth more to my body than alcohol or cigarettes! it also has better long term and short term effects on the body than the two..

Marijuana is one of the only drugs that can be consumed in its natural state without chemical alterations probably meaning that its effects are God given! smile

I do not advocate for intoxication but since some chemically altered drugs are also legal (eg alcohol, tobacco, coffee & prescription) then i see no reason why we should not legalize the all natural cannabis!

I meant reading widely, not smoking pot. Reading sharpens the mind. I am wondering whether you replied intentionally to sound hilarious, or you inadvertently and compeletely missed my point. For your sake I hope its the former. If the latter, see my original point.

There are many more natural drugs with better health effects than weed, yet they remain illegal. One such is a plant found in the forests of Gabon/Cameroon/Congo and goes by the name Iboga......If you think smoking weed is fun,you should see iniatiates of Iboga (Bwitis)....It's medicinal value?.They say once used,heroine/cocaine/phombe/cigarette users become cleansed, they never go back to the habits and this happens without signs of withdrawal symptoms.Wanna some?smile

Marijuana should be legalized for medicinal purposes. But it should only be prescribed and distributed by a qualified medical practitioner for only selected conditions.

Otherwise it's recreational and meditative use even by the Rasta should be replaced with Yoga. In fact, Yoga should be used to replace the recreational use and abuse of drugs in general.
