My worst mistake:Speculating on Olympia when it was 16. It slumped soon after and sunk. I wonder why it is still listed.

Agreed. I remember puzzling over empty Uchumi shelves after a rights issue; then the truth emerged.

Uchumi raised cash through rights and instead of stocking up the stores, they paid suppliers whose wares were already sold and proceeds missappropriated. zero sum arithmetic.

Most of the stocks with high illiquidity coupled with low market cap are plain dangerous.. There's safety in numbers

Stocks that I invested in but had to cut my losses;

1. Everready
2. EA Cables
3. Olympia
4. Access Kenya
5. KQ
6. Uchumi

Thankfully none of the holdings was substantial so the losses were more than offset by gains from sound companies like EABL, KCB, BAT, NMG, Centum, Kakuzi, Safaricom and Kengen.
Life is short. Live passionately.

I also once traded CABL, luckily I made a return on it.. My worst recent choice was getting back to HF while I was told by insiders that there was rot in the books. I underestimated the smell of the skunk till it was too late

Mumias and tranny. I bought tranny as the big fish were leaving thinking I had seen an opportunity of a lifetime and went to sleep.
On mumias I was trying to play the game I had played with uchumi. But I was caught in a downward trend that had no brakes.
