"Kismayu has Fallen to KDF, Al-Shabaab start Defect and Flee
September 20 | Posted by David Goldman | Military Intelligence
Kenya defense forces have started taking control of the the Somali port of Kismayu, the last bastion of the militant terrorist outfit Al-Shabaab.
While the port is not completely liberated, KDF special forces are already taking out members of the Al-Shabaab elite forces who are giving a last fight.
KDF elite forces are operating from the west of the city of Kismayu while others have landed in the beaches of the port, Strategic Intelligence service confirms.
KDF special forces, a mixture of different elite forces landed from the sea while others landed from their helicopters and another battalion hit the port from the west.
This was the strategic approach and Al-Shabaab least expected this, Strategic Intelligence has confirmed.
KDF mapped out new transport, resupply, and troop movement routes making Tana River and Mada Bay new strategic operations area.
Al-Shabaab has hoped KDF would come to Kismayu through the Afmadow road, however, KDF has restructured its approach to the objective by redesigning its routes.
Most of the Kenyan elite forces are using a specific long-range gun that has completely forced Al-Shabaab fighting units out of their way.
The UN and AU has started lobbying for KDF to take extra caution in their urban operations to minimize collateral damage and loss of live"

- KDF and our athletes (who ran for kenya to get gold in London juzi)are some of the very few patriots we have and who put Kenya first. Ahsanteni sana sana KDF.
- KDF is capable of well-coordinated land, air and amphibious operations so no major surprise there,
-But taking Kismayo is not the biggest deal, its post-war pacification that matters most, sio?
- KDF doing good, now our internal security guys are also improving (all those captured suicide vests the other day)Applause

- @chemos - Our Ugandan bros are getting new replcement choppers anytime now. I still wonder why they never had attack choppers in Mogdisho all these years? No wonder they took so long to break out of Mogdisho
- @Villageseer et al, this is good news but is there any independent verification? Always verify who is giving the news before you quote them, no? You would be amazed to know who is behind this site Shame on you
- Al kafafu are reportedly returning to Kismayoo after initially fleeing so its gonna be one major urban battle and KDF have to fight them while avoiding civilian collateral damage already some not-to-happy westerners are itching to say accuse our navy has been killing civilians same thing they did in Mt Elgon - burare rusty tincan hao.

But watatoboa these our capable guys, have absolutely no doubt.

@Intelligentsia, I agree with you that post-war is more important that Kismayu take over. But with the number of AS neutralized so far and the lost of income, AS will be reduced to another rag-tag group that I hope the new Somali government can deal with.

Additionally, I think to KDF it is good that AS has decided to stay and fight rather than wage a guerrilla war of hit and run.

Applause Applause Applause to KDF and may God lead and protect them!
