Advice issued Feb 2012 -> We retain our BUY recommendation on Mumias. However based on our adjusted forecasts, we revise our fair value estimate to KES 8.04 (60.8% upside).

Mukiri, hisah does not work for SIB (at least not to my knowledgesmile) He was just posting a previous recommendation from them.

Research reports are usually long. If you don't like poring over all that stuff, you can just skip past it and go straight to the 'Conclusion'. Be wary of this approach though...

Are people likely to drink sugar after the Comesa rules. Perhaps we should ponder this.

This company is an interesting one.it has potential to make money but I think it is not concentrating on the areas that really contribute to the bottomline.

Take for instance its receivables, why wuld the company entertain 3 months credit...this makes the company tie most of its money on receivables...their debt collection is quite inefficient.

Another area of concern is its supply chain, yesterday and many days I have observed the MSC sugar is no where to be found in most retail outlets...why wuld this be an issue for a company that has been in business for decades.

The demand is there for the product but you will find that supplying this market and collecting the money is an issue.Unless this company gets its house in order they are going to get a beating from local firms and imports.

The sugar guru says profit warning, the other guru says profit for H1 2012...
I take sides with the sugar guru, based on share price behaviour even with a fat dividend yield, lukewarm excitement, share to tank or remain below 6.50/- by full year.

@youcant - pls keep the tabs on this one in your memory bank smile

I tend to lean to the sugar guru's side on this one time keeping in mind that in the previous FY result the PBT was actually a loss only to be bailed out by tax refunds.

Its still undervalued even if they issue a Profit warning possible due to low global sugar prices & some operational constraints in FY 2013, just look at the PE, NAV & DY, its cheap @ the current price. One of my long term projects, i will be buying at every price dip...ethanol, water bottling...power generation...TARDA...hard to ignore!
