They in the meantime will not berate Rwandwa and Uganda for their adventures in Congo, (Rwanda is now actively fomenting trouble by supporting the renegade General Ntaganda who is wanted by the ICC) nor Ethiopia despite horrendous human rights situation.
It's no wonder Kibaki has turned eyes firmly east and will not waver. Watawachwa na hizo petty cash wanatoa with conditions.
nice argument
Yes indeed. I am inclined to think that the event of KDF in Somalia (success) and now with the impending fall of Kismayu, Uncle Sam sees his influence in the region fading and Kenya becoming a military powerhouse. They rue the shift in balance of power both diplomatic and economic hence the propaganda about rights abuses. Lets hope we can sustain Kibaki's vision and determination to have very little to do with these clowns. Else let them remain with petty "rights" business as Kenya charts its own course and defends and propagates its interests in the region without reference to the West. Kenya's traditional "development partners" have routinely betrayed Kenya on flimsy grounds of rights abuses and conditionalities.
Sample this analysis:
http://intelligencebriefs.com/?p=2469 Kenya had planned the war and had their interests in Somalia carved out. Kenya had trained 4000 Somali troops and facilitated their arming. Kenya had built alliance with UK, Britain, France and USA...... These alliances have played the central role in shaping the future of the Somalia. Unfortunately, the military plan and exit strategy that Kenya used was not popular with the US, Britain, and France. They warned Kenya against attacking Somalia.
The ramifications of this discontent may be playing out in the current AMISOM scenario. Strategic Intelligence has confirmed dozens of American and British military programs for Uganda where Uganda Army has received both training and military help. The Kenyan’s success in Somalia has not gone down very well with these global powers. (
Hence their story to withdraw military aid to Kenya due to “Human rights violations”).
