1.HEAT HACKING-Pin numbers could be gleaned from the heat residue left on the ATM keypad using a thermal(infra red)camera. Though you are unlikely to be robbed this way since a guy who can afford such an expensive camera probably doesn't need finding out other people's ATM pin numbers not to mention that it's still a headache to figure out the sequence of the numbers gotten by using the camera. But it's still a possibility that someone could steal your money this way.

Well! there is another easier way of getting money that's not yours at the ATM machine and you don't have to be TECH SAVVY. You can kidnap someone and lock him/her up. Ask for the ATM pin-don't forget to ask for the second pin if at all those innovators trying to limit the amount a thief can withdraw from your account can be trusted to come up with their silly software-then just clean the account before you release them.

ALL ATM machine will take several snaps of you at any one time. Furthermore ALL have CCTV in the booths. So do this if you plan to kill your victim later. Otherwise your face will be with police systems within minutes of releasing your victim.

For what war dialling is read this- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_dialing

ATMs typically connect directly to their host or ATM Controller via either ADSL or dial-up modem over a telephone line or directly via a leased line.

You would need to pray that the ATM is on dial up modem then you could war dial for ATMs connected to telephone modems, and identify them by the cash machine's proprietary protocol. Once you have a target assuming there is any ATM with it's remote monitoring feature on, you could bypass authorization and install unauthorised programs via the internet by exploiting an authentication bypass vulnerability. And that's if the ATM machine has the vulnerability in the first place or the flaw hasn't been fixed- this can allow unauthorised programs to be run in it and overwrite existing firmware. After that you would have to know what to do to get it to give you cash.

you are very lost from wazua..

Anyway, there is this issue of when you are in distress at the ATM, you enter your password in reverse and a distress call is sent to the relevant authorities...

That's mostly just a hoax....you cannot do that on all or most of the ATMs.
