- kofi anan has more say on our issues than the principles

-president n prime minister unable to whip their troops n prefer pointin fingers n mindless debates

-Coalition is Drama

-Mpigs are high on tribalism

-man made famine...draughts happen in Europe too..especially UK..but famine..in a land whose most arid areas have more rains than iran or egypt is simply amazing!

-post elections violence not sorted..and 2012 is drawing near

-mungiki sore is festerin with leaflets bein dropped in kabete area askin non 'wa-nyumba's to leave

-trigger happy gun totting police on the loose? lose? whatever!

-messed up justice system

-corruption

-mpigs likely to pull an 'Al Bashir' hague verdict on infamous waki's envelope
-Constitution will turn out a political expediency tool

-someone has started a chain mail on yahoo, gmail n face book pleadin with young guys not to vote on possible referendum and elections 2012.........

-civil action groups thrilled with prospects of a failed government

-a disappearin middle class.. Pretty soon you either rich...or poor not richish-poorish

I think kenya is better off as a colony!..with anan as governor. Though i vaguely remember his son charged with some iraqi connected scam! Africans!

@jammo
Colonizing our country may not sort us out. Look at SA where the wazungus stayed longer and took SA's economy to a higher level than other African countries. I see SA being in tatters after Mbeki messed up plus the inevitable Zuma leadership thats upcoming....

On the flipside,I guess if we seriously fought like Rwanda, those who remain will take each other seriously and maybe ... maybe take the country to great heights of prosperity. Watch Rwanda in the next few yrs.

The problems ailing Kenya as per your list can only be solved by us Kenyans and not outsiders ..... but we need a revolution .... but where are the revolutionaries??

Harare (Zimbabwe) has better infrastructure than Nairobi (Kenya) even after mugabe destroyed the country. Could it be the Mzungus left in 1980 while ours left in 1963?

S.Africa (for all the inequalities) remains 'richer' than most African countries including (very) resource rich Congo & Nigeria. Mbeki was OK but zuma is a recipe for disaster.

Namibia was a late bloomer but doing quite well compared to other African countries.

Ghana was first African nation to become independent. It is resource rich (esp gold) lakini a basket-case.

Mauritius is an African island but controlled/ruled by Mhindis. It seems to be doing well even in this current crisis. This small country/island has an airline almost the size of KQ.

Sack the government..PWC and KPMG search for a Board Of Director and goverment executives...run the country as a corporate with a very good CSR..establish performance contracts and evaluation committees...be on job at 8..leave at 5...low basic salary..bonus n allowances based on performance.. Parliament be reduced to a late night comedy theater!

How about giving the country back to the people. Why not let the Kenyans own their problems without interference of 'orders from above'.

In the US,every little village in the middle of a 'bible state' has a law in the form of a sheriff. The interesting bit is that the job of Sherrif has been passed from father to son for the past 300 years. Now this sounds ridiculous but it works for this small group.

Now fast forward to Newyork and the mayors job is an interview for the presidency. The current mayor is one of the richest and brightest man in the world, the one and only Michael Bloomberg. The mayor is directly responsible for everything from education to security, there are no powers from above.

Now why can't we have the same scenario here in kenya. The people of pokot are better off left to police themselves as all they care about is their cattle and they already have AK 47's. Likewise Nairobi should have an intelligent mayor who should take direct responsibility for every thing. Should be directly elected and answerable to Nairobians.

Our current problem is that we are looking for a single fix for the whole of kenya, thats impossible as we are 40 million people of different backgrounds and needs,we need to break down the needs of our people and acknowledge that different parts will need different things.

Example if you look at education in kenya, the private institutions are doing much better than the public ones, and this is from nursery - university. The reason is simple,no red tape and orders from above, they don't need to wait half the day for Prof. Sam to bring a box of chalk so learning can start.

Phew, that was a rant. Now for some cappuccino.

Infact the current pro-Peter kenneth wankfest going on in the site is based on his supposed good work in his constituency.

This should prove my point that sum of smaller units of kenya will ultimately be greater than the whole.
