Wonder why Iran didn't close it's air space with so much activity, and also noting B52 Bombers were just stacked up nearby. But, much as Iran has accepted this crush was due to human error, i still blame one DJT.

If the Iranian general hadn't been assassinated in the first place, this would not have happened.

If the Iranina general hadnt involved himself in ploting harming US interests all these wouldnt have happened.

Remember just prior to all these, the US Embassy was invaded, and there before some American were killed over there - all attributable to the General.

Though admitting in itself is a good thing, the credit for it is undermined in that; it only came after denial upon denial, then they realised the evidence in the public arena is overwhelming.

This also is a pointer to the character of the ‘beast’.
They do stuff and deny flatly.

If they can deny non intentional happenings how about the intentional malign stuff e.g sponsor of terror & terror groups.

A religious regime.....

The Supreme guy cried while burying one – an action that subsequently further whips up emotions in the general public.

Now there are tens of innocent young Iranians who died so unnecessarily due to the ill advised policies of the regime.

I imagine he will cry a river....
Not holding my breath thouh...

I can imagine the initial celebration of hitting an enemy jet (e.g when the iranians hit the American drone)...then figuring out later you just killed 170+ people.

I would have imagined on radar screen you could tell the difference between a civilian aircraft and a military jet by speed & size of blip.

The Syrians using russian equipment shot down a russian military plane which the raiding Israel jets used as a radar screen cover.

Blue on blue casualties in a war.

We would all imagine on radar screen U.S. Navy could tell civilian jet, before they it shot down killing 290 in 1988?

Not holding my breath though...

And you are telling us it is BBC and Al Jazeera telling this story? DO you expect them to say anything good about Iran even if it was US who did it? Majority of the passengers were Iranian, in fact the highest 82, you mean Iran can be that stupid to kill their own people?

@nandwa, why are you reporting on the deaths and casualties of the two missiles strikes? You have hidden agenda!

How about US minding their own business? They have nuclear, why do they feel they need to stop others from having nuclear? Then when Iran refuse them their oil, they go bully them. The blood is on US hands who go around bullying others all over the world!

If we can be honest with ourselves, we would agree that Iran MUST never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.

Some argue the regime and its military shot down the passenger plane out of paranoia. Some say it is sheer incompetence. Others say it's because these dudes are crazy. Totally unhinged.

To me it doesn't matter. US and Israel must never allow these crazies to have nuclear power.

This is exactly the arrogance we are talking about. They can have nuclear but others are not allowed! Who gave them the authority? When Uncle Sam shot down a passenger plane themselves, was it out of paranoia or sheer incompetence or they are crazy? How come no one is talking about the casualties from their missiles?

The Iran airstrike was no joke. No wonder trump didnt want things to escalate even after the us airbase was bombed.

The Iranian strike was well coordinated between them and US back-channel operatives to save face and avoid escalations.

The real retaliation will come in three to four years, well prepared and coordinated by Iran, most likely using proxies. Thats how Iran has always operated; during Israeli assassinations and US cyberattack in 2010's....

By the way, how come CNN, BBC etc etc are not reporting on the deaths and casualties of the US missiles strikes?

At home front (read USA/W. Europe), the media houses have to portray the 'other side' (Iran/Iraq) as the evil, hence try to change public opinion that they were not the aggressors.

Btw the killing of these two top guys by the US strike can solidify Shia fundamentalism in the ME.

As guilty as charged. That's why there was no retaliation after Iranian strikes. Very sad indeed for so many innocent people to lose lives due to chain of events orchestrated for no good reason
