Lands minister James Orengo Kenyan says authorities are aware that South Sudan has annexed part of their territory as indicated in the new nations maps. He says defense and foreign affairs ministries are handling the matter

This is according to star newspaper today. Has it become a trend?

"Our Government says they wish establish a Joint Commission with the Southern Sudanese Government, but only after they get the final Report on Migingo. In the meantime, all the Kenyan flags have been lowered in the region - including the DO's Office. The GOSS Security forces are in charge and their flags are up. Pathetic..."

Ilemi triangle has been disputed for a long time one thing that makes the resolution easy is Ethiopia has not laid claim to the territory that would have brought another angle to the dispute.

There are several treaties over this territory I think what SS has done is be the first to deal with the issue, now the ball is in our court to lay claim and hence take this dispute to the UN if we fail to amicably tackle it.
