@Cde - will you believe this...

http://bit.ly/nCOUgZ

Going by the way Tullow has been mean with refusing offers from other investors for any stake or a opt-in, when this comes online it will be explosive... This would promote one to buy up the EAC investments like mad... No wonder the big banks (e.g. JP Morgan, HSBC etc) are vulturing around KE. Which also confirm the Nairobi Financial hub theme.

http://bit.ly/pe8EVm - I wonder what Soros saw here. The fund scoped by the Soros Funds has invested in Craft Silicon, Paystream, Elris Communication Services and Hillcrest International Schools... If the CMA SME small cap equity market is launched next year and any of the mentioned are listed, I'll be all in...

As an aside. Soros portfolio commitments show a huge 13% in Sierra Leone. Hmmm... http://bit.ly/ovaYci

Cheers guys. The Financial Hub theme is a part of the Vision 2030 and its good to see the int.banksters jostling for space. We are to be the Swizzie of EAC. "we don't have the natural resource but we'll handle the money flow @ a fee" Laughing out loudly

@chemos - KK is not on this boat...

But from where I am (far away from KE) there is a rumour that most of the oil firms are busy running around building storage facilities in EA. Yet to establish which countries they're going to build the storages. But that should confirm that 'the liquid gold' is in EA and in plenty. There is no way the Lamu port is just an idea out of the blues... An Abu Dhabi is in the making here...

Follow the money smile

Maybe why the SMEX is being fastracked by CMA? Or companies insist on listing when it is evident the prices will tank as soon as Kibaki rings the bell? Could they be wearing 'Money Goggles' as you are fond of saying? smile

All these are indeed interesting developments. Word from the Ministry of Energy is that one of the most brisk business is the buying and selling of exploration blocks. Some people even pay billions of shillings for rights to explore some areas. Someone knows something and they will not tell until they make their money.
Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...
