Today I have placed a major bet on a turnaround in the market. My first tranche of funds was deployed as follows:

1.KK @ 10.50
2.Equity Bank @ 23
3.CoopBank @ 14.90
4.East African Cables - between 11.50 & 11.90

The last is purely speculative on account of improved results and the TCL listing. As for the others, I believe they are good counters which have been oversold on account of market pessimism.

Now I wait to see whether this was a foolhardy or an inspired decision.

Well, T+1 after yesterday's purchases. I know its early days yet, but this is a quick review. Purchases 1,3 & 4 are ALL in the GREEN. Equity is stable.

I think the hammering is because the market knows that kengens earnings will be lower or flat at best and they will give a measly 0.5 dividends... More hammering to come

@Cde, I do not mean to scare you have you compared the fundamentals of Kengen Vs KPLC ?

If I have 100 bob and I want to invest in Kenya Power sector, I will locate 80 bob to KPLC and 20 to Kengen. 20 bob for Kengen is just a dash to fulfil long term righteousness. That me only !

those people who are buying better know what they are doing....please dnt confuse a relief rally and a full blown bull rally..
i am out of this market upto next year when i will size up these stocks and think if i shld buy.we have seen many a relief rallies and people have been left holding monkeys when the truth hits them
as for now any rally will be treated with utmost suspicion..

Now I wait to see whether this was a foolhardy or an inspired nice move comrade, you're one of the best traders at wazua. Today the market has kicked back, i can tell. I speculatively bought kengen at 13.70, only for the down fall to begin. Still optimistic though. Your picks, expect the fourth, are also very good long term positions.
