We have been through this many times, safaricom is not in danger that Airtel have launched or will launch 3G, maybe AK is

They are doing A/B testing, where you roll out a new product/feature to some of your users, check the response, tweak it, then roll it out to everyone.

Normally UFT tests are not open to everybody, its normally a selected group of users

Safaricom is in NO danger at all. MOAT they got plently of this. if 3 bob calls dint kill them, this is nothing. M-pesa will keep safcom on top for a veery long time

after a lot of consideration, i have concluded that this will not in much way affect the giant considering that price fluctuations in the data sector.

I don't see how this affects Safaricom. 3G is a good thing but save for few of you doing data, to the masses who only make and receive calls it doesn't mean an iota. Safaricom has these guys by the balls via MPesa.

I had airtel modem sometime back but I quit using it after one week; I even still have 500MB loaded. I was REALLY DISAPPOINTED by its snail speed. If I use it now, will it use 3G mode or I have do some "upgrading"?
