A modest 9% rise for WTK full year profits. At least they have doubled the dividend to 12.50.

Kameme, I assume Kapchorua has given 12.50 also. What about Limuru Tea, why don't they announce their results at the same time as these two as they are related in all aspects?
Wisdom to detect when share prices hit rock bottom.
When interest on bonds keep going up, you know the bear run is on high street. When interest on bonds start leveling, the bear has met the bull and they have hit rock bottom. When the interest rates on bonds start coming down, the bull has overpowered the bear and you better be riding the bull.

I haven't had time to study these results but on the basis of a casual look I would say they are pretty good considering the previous period the results were simply amazing. DPS is also significantly improved which is good. A bonus would also have been nice!

The only thing in common Limuru Tea has with WTK and KAPC are that they are in the same business. Limuru Tea is controlled by Unilever and has a 31st December year-end, so results are not due.

A huge part is biological gains but Tea Prices are steady in 1Q 2011-12 [though lower production due to lack of rain]

We all agree now that tea stocks are not a good hedge against the weak Sh but KQ still is...Ok as long as Oil remains above 100$/barrel.

Like VVS as a long term shareholder, I am happy with WTK's performance. I did not expect an increase in profits considering just how good WTK results were in 2010. But at the low PE and NBV levels, this is surely a share to keep.

As with all agrics, the future is always uncertain so I would most certainly not be advising others to jump in at this point.

I can however predict that the increased dividend is here to stay. This company (WTK) has Kshs 95 of its NBV per share in cash which covers the 12.50 dividend almost 8 times!
