Been looking at Ackman and Stuyvesant Town when I noticed that majority of the (sic) "poorer" areas of town (rental yields, property value, sqfootage etc) are located in the East...

Nairobi - Eastlands
London - East London
New York - e.g the bronx

Is this by
1. innocent accident
2. result of urban planning & zoning
3. Sample too narrow?

Would this inform a decision on land speculation?

In the middle tropics, the wind regime is generally characterized by westerlies i.e winds blow from the west to the east. During zoning, guys who will not want to be affected by air pollution will have the residential houses in the east of the major industries.

I am sure guys will argue that industrial development has lead to ballooning population in such areas.
