Great questions you have put across. Of course the society expects that a person holding such position be a role model. The earring is quite a put off. It is even more worse going by the reason for the earring and especially when viewed by Christians. The issue of his marriage also attracts a few questions. The guy is not any where near perfect. And in any case who is perfect?
But then, when we look at his credentials in academic, professional, social justice and integrity, none of the guys who presented themselves came closer to that. He is a guy of strong character (at least form what we hear).
Now that his positive attributes if put into practice will be felt throughout Kenya and will for once bring happiness to many, I guess it would be easier for us to do the hard work of teaching our Children that it is not good for a man to wear an earring. Let us be the role models of our children and we will have nothing to fear about Mutunga.
By the way, I am sure you know of this guy who says he is born again but is in court every now and then because of corruption and is also facing murder charges. Now, which character would you rather settle for?
