Safaricom -Yu can this be a case of conflict of interest?

Vodafone who are a majority owner in safaricom are at the same time now holding the controlling stake in YU's parent company Essar telecom with 75% share holding.

I think I read in safaricoms prospectus[E&OE]that shareholders are not allowed to have a competing business where safaricom is operating.Please can someone shade a light on this interesting relationship.

Vodafone kicked out all essar remanants in india last week, i dont know what YU Kenya now really is, i suspect it is the same boat as India, all essar remnants will be kicked out any time now, expect new vodafone faces there.

And Vodafone never owned shares in Essar anyway. The two separate companies were joint partners in a venture named "VodafoneEssar".

In 2007, Vodafone bought 67% of Hutch-Essar beating Reliance Communications (a previous joint venture).

Whats more interesting is that YU(perhaps now vodafone) uses Airtel infrastructure. lol

Now that is funny...but we will see more of infrastructure sharing...I think in Ghana it has started.
