The Attorney General Amos Wako suggests that Mps should have their salaries slashed by 40% to finance additional expenditure brought about by the new constitution including additional MPs, Senators and Governors. He is of the opinion that we should have the Remuneration Commission up and running ASAP and one of his suggestions to them is to slash MPs salaries!!!

May be he is playing to the gallery but it is commendable he has started this discussion at that level. If everyone else takes cue, you can be sure those salaries will be slashed when the time comes. The good thing is that no parliamentary approval will be required.

In my opinion though, the salaries should be slashed by more than the suggested 40%. An Mp should get 400,000/= max. - all inclusive - and pay taxes like everyone else. This should be set to take effect after the next election. Anyone not happy with that kind of salary doesn't have to vie - no one is holding a gun to their heads! Some of these MPigs can't get a job paying them 30,000/= under normal circumstances! And that's assuming the work 40+ hours a week - with an emphasis on work!!! Bure Kabisa!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

This is the best news this year.I pray that it will come to pass.

I would vote for a motion to have them pay taxes if such motion was brought in a referendum of sort.Imagine at 1.2M on for 210 mpigs(not sure if the number has changed as i have lost count) for 1 fiscal year, that tax man loses close to 1B.

1B that could have settled the IDP's and saved lives.Maybe it is time mpigs are forced to think like humans, this is a step towards that.

The AG is on Govt payroll where he is entitled to amongst others

i. 3,000 Cc vehicle
ii. Driver & Bodyguard
iii. Ksh 1.2 M
iv. A host of allowances

Despite this package, Kenya as a Nation has lost a slew of International cases whilst under his very nose.

Its not odd to think someone is paid for the Nation to loose.
