ati Sudan means Land of the Black People. Ni ukweli? Then in this case then the North should be the one to change name. Or will it be tricky coz of the Nubians?

They should call it 'The Sud'. Afterall, this is where the Nile collects. Sud meanns basin and it is the south. The North should look for another name. Although this might cause legal problems

Kenya originated from Mt.Kenya. Kikuyus called it Kirinyaga, Kamba's called it Kiinya. These names mean 'Place of Ostrich'. Recorded version was Kamba's Kiinya from where the name Kenya is derived.

@guka, you are right.... and they used 'nyaga' as plural for 'runyaga'..... at least the version i have heard.
