The aircraft industry is moving away from the titanic like planes. Production of A380 is closing with only Emirates order book that is keeping them alive. The Boeing 747 is also out of production. The only 747's that are remaining on the order book are for the POTUS presidential fleet. If they were to do this they most likely will have to increase frequency rather than purchase a jumbo or A380.

True....The jumbo planes are unsustainable. 777s 787s A340s & A350s are the long range planes in business.

Actually if they needed a plane the size of a jumbo they would have to buy a 777x. That is either the 777-8 with a seating configuration of 365 seats or a 777-9 with a seating configuration of 414. Which is averagely what a typical 747 has. Problem is that the 777-9 is yet to go into production and its order book will take years given the first delivery is next year December. That said they could buy an old jumbo but still make losses.

Well not really. They have a great product in the A350

Airbus AKA “scarebus” for some of us Boeing fans

If demand is truly growing for KQ, it should lease a 777 from EK until the planes leased to Oman/Turkey are returned. [Were they leased to Oman/Turkey or sold outright?]

I look at some of the comments on this thread and wonder what people will say when the Open Offer is announced. There was the first chance for all and sundry to make a quick kill during restructure when some folks here swore that KQ will touch KES 2.10 but it did not, rather it went up to KES 18.75 within seven days of relisting!!! Now there will be clueless others waiting for KQ to dip sub Open Offer price projected at KES 5.00 by the exchange bar, but I could bet you my entire earthly belongings that these persons will be shocked to see KES 21 or higher print in the run up to book closure. Thank me later/soon

@Obiero kindly breakdown the tweet
