Delta bought cheap(er) planes, refurbished them and put them into service. What’s $1bn in refurbishment for many airworthy planes? Compare this to $1bn in new planes that were bought using debt which couldn’t be serviced. KQ’s new planes had to be sold or leased at a loss. Greedy when others are fearful.
