Hi Lo,I keep hearing 175 M every time I ask around about the Olympia Sale. Does it have anything to do with the current value of the assets or is it the sale proceeds of the assets?

Debt+Equity = Purchase Price

@Hi-Lo: [I know you know but just an example] Say you buy a car for 1,000,000 and put down 200,000. Borrow 800,000. If you default your loss is capped at 200,000 UNLESS you had a personal guarantee or other assets as collateral. The bank will sell the car & hope to recover 800,000.

Olympia needs to tell us what the CONTINGENT liabilities (if the bank can't get its entire loan recouped from sale of assets) are for Olympia Botswana and/or Olympia Kenya.

@nyari: Another loss would be any loans made by the Kenyan parent to Plush. Unrecoverable by Olympia Kenya.

My take is that he din't realize that retail giants (this must be the large supermarkets) can return your goods if they are not moving (taking up supermarket space) until they do and your like wtf! Everyone who deals with supermarkets even right here in Kenya knows that before a supermarket agree to take up your products you either buy space or agree to take back your goods if no one shows interest. Thats why you find manufactering entities sending sales girls all the supermarket airles.

Still thats no excuse! he should be firing his research people

...olympia CEO comes out from the woodwork today...did anyone catch the low monotone he used in his write-up? Can't he hear investors' voice now pitched to the 10th power ...RELEASE RESULTS !!! (even a rough draft interim/estimate even though FY is long gone)...but at least he confirmed Natwood not closed but severely downsized...now this stock can only be traded by core insiders or daredevils...

Playing the stock market without insider info...is like buying a cow in the moonlight.

It was sort of PR not the results. Anyway,it seems that Olympia Botswana will suffer the bulk of the loss unless Olympia Kenya loaned any money to Plush.
