If the media thinks this is a slow news cycle, then we have a problem. If the gov't thinks this is not important news to inform its citizens, why should a citizen report anything?
Houston we have a problem and the ostrich has refused to remove its head from the sand. The govt has already issued a statement..... "At about 2am, heavily armed bandits raided a Quarry workers’ camp at Koromey area in the outskirts of Mandera town.
They killed 36 innocent Kenyans.
Survivors of the attack indicate that the bandits numbered some 20 people.
In another incident at 8.30pm last evening, 3 masked gunmen stormed Ngamia Club in Wajir Town and started shooting at random.
Immediately, security forces engaged and repulsed them.
Unfortunately, one Kenyan was killed and 13 others injured in the incident. The injured are being attended to.
The Government sends messages of condolences to the families of those who have lost their dear ones and stands by them during this difficult time.
Investigations are underway in regard to both incidents.
A full statement will be issued in the course of the day."

Remember just two weeks ago after the masacre of 28 people in Arabiya Mandera, it was reported that the local tycoons were funding these terrorists and the police on the other hand were protecting these fellows (the tycoons and the kebabas)... Al Shabaab already killing Muslims in Somalia. Let us not get stirred by their insurgency attempts. They are using tactics as those Al Qaeda successfully used in Iraq in 2005 to stir Sunni v Shia sectarian blood letting. Here the similar strategy is using Muslim v Christian framing with Christians the 'Crusaders'. The sad thing is this is a conflux of ideology in outcomes for political mileage by the local opposition in making the country ungovernable. Al Shabaab and their proxies first intend to make NE & Coast bases for staging further inland attacks as the oil and infrastructure equations check in, their failure to take off would boost the opposition chances 2017, conflux of desired outcomes in 2017 by the two groups.

ODM tried a censor motion and it came to a cropper thanks to threats by the Maasai to decamp from ODM and not even attempt to step into Maasailand during the ODM Okoa Kenya campaigns. ODM silently withdrew the censure motion. DO NOT be fooled by their loud posturing. For short term purposes, the President needs to demand Deputy Ruto nominate 1 Kalenjin and 1 Maasai from URP to act as replacements for Kimaiyo and OleLenku respectively as we continue with the mid and long term security solutions.

That is the biggest mistake that we Kenyans made and we do not want to accept... We politicised everything and forgot to draw a line between politics and real important issues... Infact a classic example is wazua...swenani starts a "landing" thread and it ends being Luo vs Kikuyu...Mawinda starts a thread on fish and it ends being Jubilee vs Cord... ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...
