BODMAS was Brackets of Division Multiplication Addition and Subtraction. In that order. There was nothing like left to right rule back then. So I bet any bright class 5 kid will give 13 as the answer.

He wasn't able to write 5 to the power of 2 so he wrote '52' instead. I am sure he knows its 25.
