Hey guys, why not try these too:

1. Repair vs Replace: Before you rush to replace something, consider repairing. For example, Instead of spending Ksh 150,000 to buy a new sofa set, you might consider having them repaired. Your sofa set will look brand new for much less than you would to replace.

2. Take good care of your things and if you lend something to your friends or relative, impress upon them to take care of your things. You can't keep on replacing or repairing stuff because of carelessness.

3. Avoid late payment fees, over-limit fees and high interest charges. You can't afford to pay these fees when you are having financial troubles.

4. DIY (Do it yourself): Do some of the home repairs or small projects on your own. Learn some skills from friends, workmates, relatives or neighbors. Browse the internet and learn loads of ways to fix common home repairs and buy some home DIY tools to fix your own gadgets.

5. Learn to say 'no': Do not give in to the whining demands of your kids for un-budgeted toys; to your friends invite for un-planned trip or to your relative’s request to host them, when you have no extra cash for the extra expenditure. Kindly decline in either case until you are able to spend.

6. Take up a money-saving hobby: Hobbies not only open your mind to new experiences but
they also take up your time that you would otherwise spend in the pub drinking away your hard-earned money that could be your extra cash.

Hope they will help. :)

Don't have kids unless you have the time and money and it takes a lot of both!
The rich have money working for them; the poor and the middle class are going to work for money.

always re-budget according to your income. do not copy paste a budget because the income is the same and 'nothing' has changed.
African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'
