Low pax count? Ngunze's bad decisions. Where are they planning to go next?

Sebastian now starting a proper restructuring. Codeshare with Oman Air means they won't be flying to NBO?

Yeah low numbers...Washington.smile

When? Good decision for KQ to fly direct rather than just a codeshare which Ngunze was targeting.

Who wont be flying to Nairobi?

Those Oman fellows gave the handling work to Swissport instead of KQ and thats where the good money is...

They should make that route direct flight to Guangzhou (gwanjo)...that's was the original intention I think.
There is no business stopping to buy rice in Hanoi.
We have rice in Ahero and Mwea.

Wasn't there a direct flight NBO-CAN?
Didn't it fly with a high PLF & cargo?

Likely to be payload limited with the current fleet of 787 according to my source. It was ideal on the 777-300ER (but economically bad for KQ because of a poorly/neglegently negotiated lease way above market rates), now sub-leased to Turkish?
@Maka, any word on the B77W return/not?

Isn't the return opposed by KLM?

Over 8400 posts on a company that has not turned a cent in profits for 5 years.

People have traded profitably on the stock as recently as 4 months ago.. Additionally KQ was the best performing stock last year at the NSE.. Further, going forward there's no turning back in the share price.. The only way is up bro.. Watch it in the next few weeks and feel free to comment

Why would KQ sub-lease out a plane they need on NBO-CAN?
If Turkish is paying KQ "market rates" then KQ is paying the lessor ["a poorly/negligently negotiated lease way above market rates"] more than it receives. Why not then just keep the plane & effectively service NBO-CAN?

Kenya Airways (KQ) lost a record 55 pilots last year, raising to nearly 100 the number of pilots who have exited the struggling national carrier in two years.

What's ET doing right that KQ isn't?

@Ericsson - Seems that most airlines licensed to fly by KCAA are domestic airlines [why restrict other investors?] or charter operators. Charter flights target specific markets and whose clients/tourists are often sold packages including flights. If they don't come to Kenya, they will go elsewhere.

If one checks out Thomson/TUI websites, the deals are incredible i.e. the entire holiday package can be as low as what we pay NBO-LHR-NBO on KQ. This means either KQ has a great source market OR there's a monopoly. I wish I could get such deals from TUI/Thomson ex-Kenya to Egypt, India, Vietnam, Turkey, etc.
