it has happened, and can happen. against one inter during 03/04 season, we were 3-0 after the home leg, and concedded first in the retutn one. but trust me, it ended 1-5 and arsenal went through. this is soccer!

I think the cards were for Silent Stan (Kroenke), he was in town for a board meeting and had indicated that he would attend the match.... he's rarely seen at the Emirates, the fans wanted to send a message but i think they got overwhelmed by what was happening on the pitch!

My bad, this week is the internationals (not CL), the matches that bring fear to any club side coach, with the real possibility of important players e.g. RvP picking up injuries. Thankfully Rooney is out of the tie - should be fresh and ready for the trip to White Hart Lane

Two reports that might interest Arsenal fans...

Its being reported all over that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Lucas Podolski, what's remaining is for the two clubs to agree a fee. I know the player has always fancied a move to the Emirates but i don't think this is the time to get excited, i'll believe it when he jets in for a medical in July. He's a good player though, he has an amazing left foot like rvp and age is on his side.

The other report is not so good, RVP is set to miss tonight's match against England after picking what seemed to be a groin injury in training. However, its also being reported that RVP's withdrawal from training was purely precautionary. Bert van Marwijk doesn't think its serious and expects him to play....i hope he keeps him on the bench.

What a way to justify not being able to win a trophy for so long.Regardless of all this achievements Wenger must use some of that money to win us a trophy soon.

In the race for pos 3 and 4 in the EPL it seems Spurs have the easiest run in in terms of facing the current top 7 teams:

Arsenal: still to play Liverpool(A), Newcastle (H), City (H), Chelsea (H)

Chelsea: City (A), Spurs (H), Newcastle (H), Liverpool (A), Arsenal (A)

Newcastle: Arsenal (A), Liverpool (H), Chelsea (A), City (H)

Liverpool: Arsenal (H), Newcastle (A), Chelsea (H)

Spurs: United (H), Chelsea (A)

Tottenham would have to do alot to choke like 2006, they have a seven-point gap and only face two teams from the top 7.

Chelsea and their manager are under pressure, but perhaps rightly so; they face five of the top seven while both Liverpool and Arsenal are away games. Chelsea look in real danger of falling out of the CL places for the first time since Mourinho arrived.

Arsenal play four of the top seven but have most of their games at home. Next Saturday's match at Liverpool could have a huge bearing on their finish.

Newcastle have a equal distribution of home and away games between four of the top seven. Can they make fourth? My guess is it's Europa league for a season of magnificent overachievement.

Liverpool have the easiest run-in behind Spurs, with only three games against the top seven and two at home. However, with a wonderful knack of cocking it up against the 'lesser' teams and a Merseyside derby still to play, it would take an almost alarming level of winning (and goal-scoring consistency to usurp the four points they currently lag behind.

On the flip side, it equally tough to face the relegation threatened teams, an anlysis of this would reveal a different scenario!!!!

Arsenal face L'pool this weekend, not an easy fixture. City and L'pool are the only two teams that are undefeated at home but then again they've only won 4 matches at home the rest being drawn....Arsenal have only lost once at the Kop in the last 5 years. We are lucky RVP's injury wasn't that serious so he's expected to play but L'pool have lost Daniel Agger and Gerrard is also a big doubt. If we play the same way we did against Spurs then L'pool won't stand a chance because their squad is not as dynamic. Otherwise I expect at least a draw from Anfield.

Spurs Vs Man Utd.....This match can go either way although silently i would prefer a win by SAF's men because it would make things interesting in the race for 3rd & 4th place. Anyway, i would be comfortable with a draw.

West Brom Vs Chelsea.....West Brom have been on fire at home in their last two games, they've scored 9 goals. Chelsea better get their act together because hapa naona another defeat in waiting!

Newcastle Vs Sunderland....This one of the big derbies in England, both teams are in very good positions at the top half of the table so i expect an explosive match from this two.

City Vs Bolton.....No-brainer!

IMHO If Wenger manages to qualify for next seasons CL then that would be one of his biggest achievements. The club really messed up the transfers at the start of the season and also lost 3 of their best players last season (Wilshere, Cesc and Nasri). If you consider the quality of players and amount of money spent by other top teams no one really expected Arsenal to be anywhere near the top four.

If we get rid of the deadwood and sign players such as Podolski and Hazard then the club will be on the right track. Already we have very exciting young players coming up such as Wilshere, Szczesny, Coquelin, Chamberlain, Lansbury, Miyaichi and Joe Campbell who both have been fantastic away on loan....blend that with new signings and a bit of experience in RVP, TV5, Sagna & Song we could have another team of "invicibles".
