What if this lie is a con? They do elsewhere...investment banks/hedge funds...they start a rumor and the share shoots in price, then they sell their stake. This must be a true russian mafia con.

@fresher most times it pays to listen to the crowd. Problem is following the crowd blindly.Think

PROVERB....CAVEAT EMPTOR(BUYER BEWARE)!!They do it in other markets.Spread un-truthful info. and when the share rises in price, they sell.Right now in NSE,some people have made a good profit from Tatu City lie.It might have been intentional, however,I was just thinking aloud....once again-caveat emptor!

In my opinion the Tatu deal is a closed case and it will proceed as planned no doubt. Renaissance Capital is a legit outfit specialising in emerging markets, the idea is simple given the overpricing/demand for real estate in Nairobi. Egaads is done, Waguthu is done, Mwagwiru is done Renaissance is just too sophisticated for them. No need for doubts, i wouldn't harbor fantasies of Eaagads pulling a renaissance in future, they were given replacement land in Ruiru to do their plantations, not just anyone can replicate Tatuu.

Didn't Waguthu buy land from Eaagards? that was my assumption coz buying shares should not entitle you to assets of the company? [/quote]

@ Sparkly, did you just write this? that shareholders do not own the assets of a company?

Wazua I think there should be a forum called Investing 101.

Sparkly as a shareholder you are PART OWNER of the company together with all the other shareholders. Why in the world would you think that shareholders are not entitled to the assets of a company????????????????

Sorry to say that this is the daftest statement I have read today.

EEAGADS

By this time price was around 55.. i noticed MV Ufanisi had bought it on his fantasy portfolio.. and some people's performance on their fantansy portfolio u never question.. smile smile plus i had free cash from selling Coop and HFCK.. returns were ok..i didn't mind speculating..

it turned out well..

Now, Suppose i did not manage to get out of eaagards..and i'm trapped by the fact no one is buying? what right do i have to blame CMA/NSE yet my "due diligence" was done solely on wazua?? i don't even watch news! ..i did not specifically put a question to either of these to verify the "rumor"

Confusion still continues even with the latest available information from Egaad!

What exactly is the position? As of now, I think egaad has said it has nothing to do with tatu. But we know its major shareholders are in tatu.

question is, as @ mwanahisa has said, is renaissance planning to do similar things with egaads' land since they are majority holders. Could they have bought it with merely interest in cofee?
