You can call it degree, diploma or any other other academic accreditation from a registered theological institution. You don't need to go school so that you can teach the word of God.It is a vocation.

it's madness.... I asked... do african traditional religions have their school? If God came to me last night and asked me to go preach kwa basi ya kuenda Naks - will I tell him I need to go to some school?

if to you a school is a room with walls then I get where the anger from Christians is coming from, but just for your knowledge african traditional religions have very strict schooling before you deemed fit to lead the various rites.

What if I come up with an interpretation of the bible today that bans going to school for theological training? Or even better I claim that God told me that last night?

Masukuma why are you still "discussing" with Sitaki?

Tell him to tell Uhuru to pass that law...Somethings are better off explained in practice.

if you do not agree with the law of the land just because God told you, then the state takes you to court and the judge will decide whose interpretation or thought process is valid.
You know some in the church are spreading this line that you do not need any training, that its a calling, I mean even God put down a book so that you have some structure in spreading his word. thats why even if God speaks to you many find it prudent to back it up with the written word.

Its not a chaos we are looking at, even God has order.

Demanding that church ministers have theological training. What of imams etc? Which schools will they say they attended?

The Religious Societies Rules published by the Attorney General‘s Office also demand that all pastors in Kenya must hold a theological certificate from an accredited theological institution. The new rules are set to be gazetted at the end of January 2016.

Sikuget? Of course it applies to all faiths. My question is for the imams. Which institution(s) do they go to for theological training?

Contrary to expectation, influential members of the clergy may actually support the law. Reduced competition is likely to lead to more revenues, and Uhuru gets the vote.

Imams are not pastors, ama sikuget? why would an imam take a bible theological class.
Islam has its theology, I am sure they have their own structures of teaching the same, if they have madrasas for kids they must have something for their scholars.

mmmhhh I don't know why speaking in English is such a challenge to some of us.

Rather than speak in tongues on wazua, I'll sit down and watch the gov't passing that law as is. Too tired to debate today or tomorrow.
