I am hoping that next year would be more fun and interesting. I will be joining for the next race and will have a training program for half marathon. Running is not a simple thing because it needs endurance and strength. One should be prepared mentally and physically so that you body will not be exhausted during the race.

Did you keep your promise? If yes, how was the experience?

Am not ClydeRoss...ummmh the run was awesome...the arse and thighs all over gave me motivation to run like Tergat...That aside...the organisation was not that good could have used other words but let me just say below acceptable standards...Especially when picking your cert and medal...

Those papers on the ground are wasted certificates...

The certs and medals section was the worst I have ever seen in all Marathons. They need to up their game.

OK, now that the hype and brouhaha has died down, can someone please explain to me why people don't find it silly that the First Lady runs an NGO? Especially for something as basic as maternal deaths? Isn't that a damning indictment of the capabilities of the husband to provide basic healthcare?

How does it differ from the "lets move campaign"?

Not really though I am not defending the wanton theft and inefficiency in the government including the health sector. Even in the most developed world, there is a big room for charity work.

I think the organizers dropped the ball in a couple of areas
1) the tshirts - where I was picking mine we had the largest being size 'S'.... I had to get size 'S'... I run 21kms in Size 'S'. I wish i had just decided to wear last year's t-shirts
2) the signage - I did not see any! for 1st time runners showing them how far one has to go is important - this time around nothing!! I am glad I knew the route from the last year's run and so I paced myself.
3) what was that thing they were doing at sameer? inked water? priss!! I was like... WTF!! kwani ni IEBC? again it never 'stuck'. Standard Chartered had those thingys on the road that talked to your chip. To add insult to injury I saw those gizmos at Nyayo stadium lots of them just lying around... hapo walianguka mtihani.
5) Clearing up the finish line. for some of us who started the 21km late - we had the misfortune of getting to finish line with the 10km lot... man! the horde of people taking selfies just before the finishing line. Some of us like to finish in a sprint.... why don't we have people clearing the finish line?
6) The nightmare that was the congregation around the 1st ladies' convoy... if you were behind them - there was no way of overtaking them even if you wanted to. I think she should do herself a favour and go back to the 21km to weed out all these posers.
7) There is nothing positive about the certificate handing out process other than.... they handed out certs and medals. I queued several times.. I found myself in the 2km... 10km (even got a medal only to see 10km written on it and thus I donated it to some random guy)... finally found myself at the very end queuing for the right medal.
