Seconded.
IMO, the easiest way to throw away money is to buy:
1. Cigarettes
2. Alcohol

ABK!!

For some the sure way to throw away money is to buy food...lol!!!!

To some, the sure way of throwing money away is going to the S.A.L.O.N........ There is this guy who asked me (in such a disbelief that i thought i was doing soemthing wrong) " kwani unaendaga salon kila weekend? si hiyo ni pesa mingi sana una'waste'.." Aaaaish!! and the same men complain when you have a bad-hair-day-all-week-long!

Just below the copy paste of vietnamese word there is

"Did you mean: sẽ mutu theo pháp luật thực hiện một bia"

Try translating this and it gives you

"Mutu will make a legal beer"
"Never regret, if its good, its wonderful. If its bad, its experience."

This law is the best thing to happen on our land.

It will scare away those vagabonds who start drinking at 6am and sleep beside sewerlines .

Watu wafanye kazi.Drinking from 5-11 is enough. If you must.

Since leo nimeingiwa na Roho Mtakatifu:

Proverbs 31:6

Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those in bitter distress.

If you are not dying or in bitter distress ,DONT DRINK . Fanya Kazi.If you must drink something sour , drink sour cowjuice.

Wow! All those poor people in bitter distress at Cana in Galilee where Jesus turned water into wine! Sad Sad Sad (John 2:1-11)But then again it was a wedding.

Interestingly the article mentions 'most of the 25 accused persons were aged between 20 and 26' These are the guys who should be out there making money!

Mututho has a point. I support this 100%

I agree with you that people should work hard to make their lives better and also contribute to the economy of our country. I also agree with you that very many Kenyan men are wasting away due to alcoholism and are becoming a burden to the rest of us and the economy instead of being a resource. But that is as far as my agreement with you goes!

Kenya is not a nanny state and we should not seek to make it one! No one should decide what time I should drink or do any other thing - provided it is legal! What else are we going to legislate? What time I go to bed? eat? take a shower? How many hours I should sleep?

Example: Let say I develop applications - work group computing - or I manage systems - remotely - in a country in a different time zone. I therefore "report to work" at 12:00am and "leave" at 9:00 am. What time should I drink? Should anyone decide for me?

Example 2: I use my brains and therefore my money works harder for me than I work for it. This means I need 2 hours tops for work - and still make far much more than your average Kenyan. Should someone regulate how I spend the rest of the day - a whole 22 hours.

Example 3: I am a broker, importer or whatever. I meet my clients in bars - last time I checked that was not illegal. That's my niche. I leave the 'suits' to other brokers/importers etc. Should some legislate that?

I can go on forever...

The spirit [no pun intended] might be okay but the approach is totally wrong. Educate, advice, support etc. Don't legislate. My two Zim cents!

Well said

Example 4: I am a night watchman,I go to work @ 6pm and leave at 6am. Should I drink in the evening before (and during) work or in the morning baada ya kazi?

I thought the justification for this law was to control some lethal brews that were causing widespread damage to some communities in central kenya... why not just take the law and apply it there, enforcing using local authorities... & leave the rest of us to our merry devices!

The president has passed into law Mututho's reccomendation that all bars within 300 metres to schools should be closed.
This literally means all the estate pubs will be shut down.
So if the bar was opened way before a school was built in the vicinity,is it fair to deny one a source of livelihood?
This law was not thought out correctly.
