@stealth, maybe you can check with athi river mining. their offices are along waiyaki way in westlands.

You can also work with your engineer to see if volcanic tuff, found abundantly in nakuru/naivasha areas, and sold in most hardware shops/sand supplier shops in nairobi asa substitute for river sand, can be a substitute.

What style of building is this? That white stuff is the packing material used in packing electronics. I saw this near trm.

check the prices here, starting from kes 1,800 per m2, which is slightly more expensive than stone. The advantages are that its lightweight, hennce less weight to the building structure.

I am about to cast a 150 m2 slab for my mjengo. I am seeking advise on what you would consider reasonable rates for the following:

1. shuttering
2. chuma works
3. koroga (casting)

Ground floor walling is done. Your advise is highly appreciated

@Tito44,
Within this thread, a guru called Pablo had explained how to calculate these things.
However, since your slab is close to the size of mine, I can give you rough estimates.
I did mine in 2012 and it was about 148m2.
>>Shuttering (Trappers (hired), poles, timber and labour) 110K
>> Chuma pcs and chuma labour 190K
>> Cement >> 80K
>> Sand >> 50K
>> Balast >> 40K
>> Casting Mixer and Labour (hired) >> 30K
Rough Total 500K
