This is a crime against shareholders.
That CEO should be fired. The reason given is not substantial/tangible.
We already have excess power so what's the hurry to bring in all that capacity.

@sparkly - Our October date has arrived.

I'm surprised that the price hasn't turned below 5 as per my expectation due to the dilutive rights. Actually price staying above the rights price is impressive!

FY shows growth, but as expected the previously massaged PAT was going to be down in this result release. This and the dilutive rights is why I expected price to tank sub 5 by October. Will it happen in the remaining 6 trading days?

Lack of dividend pay is an outlier! I expected a dividend cut, not a drought! This add fuel to my sub 5 call Sad
$15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

Next year is an election year my friend. You don't have to ask where the millions donated every weekend are coming from. Dividend drought for the shareholders.

Can someone kindly explain to me what Compensating tax is.

There is dividend.
It will be announced during the investor briefing and notes accompanying the results.
Dividend will be around 30 cents per share

Does anyone know when and where the investor briefing will be?

Told you back in May you are better off as debt holder than equity holder. Wait for Kenya power results and see the disaster of central planning instead of market driven planning

A dividend drought. With flimsy explanations, I wonder why? I wish I could act surprised but I can't, this is the way of gava firms. Shareholders interests mean nothing to them.

As earlier stated.
Kengen rights was too expensive at 6.55.
Counter over diluted.
Serious price fall for sure in coming months (election year 2017).

Post rights ZERO dividend is the worse in History when the company still reported profits.

@Hisah I am shocked beyond words by the dividend drought.
A sign of the company becoming another KQ where there is everything for everyone else apart from the minority shareholders??
1. GOK through Treasury gets over 10B in direct & indirect taxes.
2. Over 3B in interest for debt financiers.
3. A supplier / tenderprenuers paradise.
4. CSR - hundreds of millions spent building houses for maasai in Ol Karia and educating Kambas in Masinga.

Totally unacceptable and for that reason, I will be reviewing my position to see whether I can get better value elsewhere.
Life is short. Live passionately.
