But Jubilee supporters can still see swearing-in somewhere.
One day, we shall talk about how Kameme Fm managed to sell cheap propaganda to an entire community so successfully. From the village shamba boys to university professors. .......didn't know in Migori they listen to Kameme too. Strange country Kenya!! http://www.nation.co.ke/...23218-p6xjl4/index.html

In fact this is the most basic question anyone with an analytical mind would ask. Guess that rules out the Kenyan media. But here on wazua I would expect people to ask that basic question. Its the market place of ideas. At the very basic, I would have expected people to explore this people's assembly concept. Anyone with a basic education should have figured out by now that the swearing-in threat was just that. First it is what they call (high cost-low benefit) in strategy workshops. Second it is not Rao's and Kalonzo's style. And most importanly, it would diminish Rao's stature and respect internationally. So highly undesirable. On another thread I expressed frustration at how " karumaindo" opinions have taken over wazua. Was told I was being arrogant. So lets continue reading the " karumaindo" and " magomano " experts here. I did call it a non event. But having watched in helpless anger as our young people died for non events and their deaths were somehow accepted by both sides as the 'new normal' I now think Karumaidoism has taken over all of us, not just in Wazua. Comeon FRM2011 - Ati the swearing in event threat was "Just that"? Get real. Raila only backed off because he doesnt have the support he needs. He's not daft to want to be labelled "the self appointed President" etc tags that would injure his image. As for the peoples assemblies. For as long as there's no funding they are good as dead on arrival. Has anyone of the 7 or is it 8 met? From what Nasarites say, these assemblies are to be forums that will "change the constitution" to do that you need to pass a motion in 24 counties.....how feasible is that? Now fellow Wazuan, snap back to reality and get on with life. The Kenyan media should focus on real issues, like the current army-worm invasion in the country. Kenya's food security is threatened. Now that's a real issue "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

About the people's assembly. Two incidents tell a story of meticulous planning that we do not ordinarily see in NASA. 1. NASA has a minority in Nairobi county. But they almost passed the bill this week. The minority leader drove to Naivasha for a committee meeting. The Jubilee MCAs who were prepared to shoot down the bill relaxed after learning the minority leader was in Naivasha. Unknown to them, the minority leader sneaked and drove all the way to Nairobi. All NASA MCAs were in the assembly. He presented the bill on the floor with NASA having a clear majority. It took the intervention of the speaker Beatrice Elachi to postpone the debate.
2. Machakos county. Kalonzo personally called each all Wiper MCAs in the county to pass the bill.
We do not know what the game-plan is. But NASA can comfortably pass the bill in 21 counties. With proper planning, they can get another 3 counties. As to what they will do with those assemblies, only time will tell. Personally am convinced this is the main strategy. The searing-in was a red herring.

So what are they going to achieve with this peoples assembly thing? What is the content? I must have missed something big or else this assembly thing is just hot-air as usual...That said, Kalonzo has another battle in mayakos and ukambani at large. This was just an opportunity to show who is king..not necessarily to mean that he believes in this people assembly thing..or even understands it

Alafu? Is still the big question. Who are the members of the peoples assembly, how are they to be coordinated, funded, who drives the agenda, what happened to the high court order? This like many other Nasarite rituals is bound to FAIL. And where is the news about Nairobi's peoples assembly? Post links Daily Nation Nov 20 wrote:The High Court has issued orders restraining all county assemblies from passing or implementing motions on the formation of the people’s assemblies, dealing a blow to Nasa.
Kitui judge Lilian Mutende granted the interim conservatory orders on Monday, pending the determination of a case filed by a lobby group, Counties Development Group.
"An order is hereby issued restraining the 4th – 50th respondents and the members of the county assemblies from constituting a special college for the appointment of election members, delegations and observers of the People’s Assembly," the order reads.
The case, filed on Monday afternoon, seeks to stop ward representatives from implementing motions tabled and moved before them for the appointment or election of members, delegations and observers to the people’s assemblies.
Justice Mutende’s directive will be in force until January 28 next year when an interparty hearing will be held.
Na muache kuekelea Kalonzo, hataki hii mambo yenu, you think he's in Germany kuota kuni na hio baridi? "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

@FRM2011, Meticulous planning that does not lead to winning the trophy, an election, is nothing. All that is happening is locking the door tight after the horse has bolted. What happened in Nbi is similar to what Baba did to withdraw from a Court sanctioned election and then declaring there can be no election with Baba or instigating violence to prevent voting and then claiming voting rights were curtailed. The time for Blackmail and mischief tricks is up. It's time now for a formidable opossition to check on the Jubilee excesses and have an alternative government in waiting. There is a genuine yearning for an alternative but there is none at the moment. "Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least." Goethe

If they talk, who will check the govt? Will we then not have a dictatorial regime. And there can be no talks on electoral justice by political players when we have the judiciary. Such would be extrajudicial

Three NASA principals did not support the much-hyped swearing-in of Raila Odinga as the People’s President, leading to collapse of the plan. Raila, the fourth principal, gave in. The pressure to capitulate was enormous.
There were fears of convulsive violence leading to deaths of innocent supporters, fears that Raila himself would be arrested and jailed for treason for life, fears his legacy would be irredeemably tarnished and his cause of electoral justice and democracy would founder.
NASA announced on Sunday that it had postponed the inauguration from today to a later date. The decision to call off the ceremony was reached on Sunday after intense discussions among Raila, his family, NASA leaders and diplomats led by US Ambassador Robert Godec. It is understood Raila’s wife Ida told those pushing for Raila’s swearing-in to swear in someone else — not her husband.
She has avoided active politics since she lost her son Fidel in January 2015 and her daughter Rosemary fell sick this year. Ida and other family members were worried Raila could have been jailed for life if he had been sworn-in at the age 72.
"She was very clear the swearing-in was crazy and wondered where it came from,"
