1. Illegal immigration costs U.S. taxpayers about $113 billion a year at the federal, state and local level. The bulk of the costs — some $84 billion — are absorbed by state and local governments.
2. The annual outlay that illegal aliens cost U.S. taxpayers is an average amount per native-headed household of $1,117. The fiscal impact per household varies considerably because the greatest share of the burden falls on state and local taxpayers whose burden depends on the size of the illegal alien population in that locality
3. Education for the children of illegal aliens constitutes the single largest cost to taxpayers, at an annual price tag of nearly $52 billion. Nearly all of those costs are absorbed by state and local governments.
4. At the federal level, about one-third of outlays are matched by tax collections from illegal aliens. At the state and local level, an average of less than 5 percent of the public costs associated with illegal immigration is recouped through taxes collected from illegal aliens.
5. Most illegal aliens do not pay income taxes. Among those who do, much of the revenues collected are refunded to the illegal aliens when they file tax returns. Many are also claiming tax credits resulting in payments from the U.S. Treasury.
6. With many state budgets in deficit, policymakers have an obligation to look for ways to reduce the fiscal burden of illegal migration. California, facing a budget deficit of $14.4 billion, is hit with an estimated $21.8 billion in annual expenditures on illegal aliens. New York’s $6.8 billion deficit is smaller than its $9.5 billion in yearly illegal alien costs.
7. Illegal immigrants in fact absorb far more in benefits than they contribute. The Heritage Foundation in 2013 found that illegals contribute an average of $10,000 in total taxes (federal and payroll as well as local taxes) but use almost $24,000 in welfare and services, creating a net $14,000 per capita gain per illegal worker. With benefits like that -- and a president determined to shower even more on them -- it's little wonder the world's impoverished feel the red carpet is out for them to come here illegally.

When Kenya says "we will thoroughly screen all immigrants in the country and those coming in" and we go ahead and round them up in Kasarani stadium for screening we are all happy. When Trump proposes less radical checks on immigrants you call him all manner of unprintable names. Do kenyans want to pretend that their lives are more important than those of Americans? #AmericanLivesMatter.

Walls and trenches (those who don't build walls build trenches, or both) are very important in that it ensures "most traffic" cross in designated areas where they can be screened. The wall is particularly important in a town like mandera where half of the town is in kenya and half in somalia. The Berlin wall worked, the Israeli wall is working and so the Kenyan and US walls will work too. We are not reinventing the wheel. Saving even one life from criminals coming from across the border is a major achievement. You can't put monetary value on human lives.

yeah... why don't you spend that cash where it really saves lives. Terrorism has killed 900 people in kenya since 2000 - that is 16 years!! that figure includes the Karaos and Soldiers..... In Kenya have more people dying from DROWNING

@harrydre even if someone is poor he does not let his kids go and seek refuge in his rich neighbours house. Or beg his neighbour to "build bridges" for ease of movt of the poor kids. Kila mtu anakaa kwake. Let those "kids" (refugees) be taken back to wherever they came from.

Two things:

1) No human should treat the other as seen on those videos. arrest them and return them in a humane manner.

2) The future of Africans well being lies squarely on their shoulders. It's up to us to build a vibrant economy and lift ourselves. Not running away from ourselves. Nobody is going to do it for us.
