Very good run by Wayde 400m...He broke that ancient world record Applause Applause

Van Niekerk has been running very well the last two seasons and i expected him to win.But to break Michael Johnson's WR took it to another level, and from lane a tricky outer lane.

Genzebe has not been running much probably because of the fiasco with her coach being busted for EPO. I am fairly certain that Genzebe Dibaba is a doper as is Mo Farah.

In any case most countries including Ethiopia and Kenya do not have an off season dope testing program. Remember that doping is most effective when you are doing your pre-season running. Athletes build up their endurance during the months of January to March and thats when they dope. So testing during the Olympics is almost useless.

Without an effective off-season testing program in each country, its difficult to believe any result.

I don't know how true your statement is. From sources on the internet, tests are random and can be taken anywhere anytime. I have never heard of off season dope testing program. I'd appreciate if you enlighten me verifiable information.

testing is random..a gym buddy of mine was woken up from sleep to pee in a cup...remember john ngugi was banned due to this, he said he was in the army and the code fore bade random testing

Testing is not random
Random is not the right word. The correct word is "Targeted"

Targeted because they typically target athletes who are running well or those who have previously failed tests

For example Kenya and Russia are the two most tested teams in 2016

This is due to suspicions raised by Hajjo Seppelts documentary and the ensuing outcry.

An athlete who is not doing well and who likely will not win a medal can go for years without ever being tested out of competition.

I am not sure how true this is. As I recall it, Ngugi refused to be tested because two muzungus showed up at his farm, he did not even know who they were so he refused to give a sample.

AK were supposed to inform him that two IAAF officials were coming to test him and they did not.

Further to that, Ngugi who was almost illiterate, could not understand a word of what those two Muzunguz were saying.

On another note, I was happy to see Senegalese heptathlete Naffisatou Thiam winning gold for Belgique instead of Jessica Ennis

Even before the last hurdle the commentary guy had quipped that Better kept on looking at the other competitors instead of concentrating on his race then boom...crash/fails to qualify.

Rudisha in imperious form just when people thought he was over the hill after losing to Amos at the 2014 Commonwealth games.

Young Alfred Kipketer ran a tactically poor race. But I can excuse him because he is young. Although maybe he was pace setting for Rudisha.

John Anzrah... ooops I mean Ferguson Rotich also ran a very poor race, making his move far too late.

I think other youngstar like Kitilit and Robert Biwott have a brighter future at this event

One of my favorite female athlete Allyson Felix beaten to gold in 400m.
Not sure it was fair but seems legal.

In these cynical times of track & field, his big winning margin over LaShawn Merrit and Kirani James taken together with a more than 1 second improvement over his season's best is extremely suspicious.

Also notice that at the end of the race everyone else is panting and sweating but Van Niekerk has literally not broken a sweat!!

yeah... the last 50 meters was quite something!!! Pulled away! I hope he is running clean. I am so happy for him! Everyone else is on the ground after running he is the only one standing.

Life is short. Live passionately.
