i honestly dont believe they thought they would get that much time..They were expecting to have been dispatched by 3pm by security forces... but confusion outside kept them there till 12midnight.. thats torture esp if it wasnt part of your plan. Adrenalin levels drop.. sense starts creeping in. the thought of death by other means than what you had planned for .... worst being captured alive.
So the guys decided to go out and die fighting.. only to be met by RPG's but that was after some all night engagement with the rangers.. who couldnt go in then due to no knowledge of no. of terrorists or sort of weaponry or bobby traps inside.
