@Mcreggae you ask for evidence of the Mountaineers wealth?? Walk into the best private universities ie Strathmore, USIU & Daystar and check the student registers and the students vehicles and you'll be shocked at the number of Kikuyu!

Unfortunately the reverse is true when one walks into the worst of the public universities.. Sad

Also 90% of Kenyan kids in international schools are from Central!

Lets not even go to the most lucrative jobs that exist in Kenya today... Virtually every top dog in the market is from Central!

Sad but very very true!!

Really?? And the prisons?, the morgues? the beggars on the streets? robbers?? its all about the tyranny of numbers, and if we were to look at it from another set of goggles, the top jobs are due to political affiliation, nepotism and tribalism and not on merit!!
Still if you remember arithmetics, for every Kikuyu billionaire, how many are paupers??
I belong to a minority tribe in terms of tyranny, and am proud to say we are average and i haven't seen extreme poverty at my home village the way i see it in Central, maybe we love and support each other more...

Tuesday July 30, 2013 - Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) undertook a survey on the poverty index in Kenya in Counties based on the number of those living below poverty line.
LINK
This will form the basis for the allocation of National Revenue with poor Counties being considered for more funds to catch up with the rest.

Here is the list of top ten richest and bottom ten poorest counties in Kenya with Kajiado being the richest County and Turkana being the poorest.

Richest.

1. Kajiado

2. Kirinyaga

3. Meru

4. Lamu

5. Kiambu

6. Nairobi

7. Mombasa

8. Narok

9. Murang’a

10. Uasin Gishu

Please note how far Kirinyaga and Meru are from the hubs of Nairobi and how they keep a low political profile, they simply work their shambas, and go to school not politic all day. I can tell you finding a begger or omba omba in these areas as some here state is next to impossible! Even a looch hakuna. Meru for example sold horticultural produce worth 77billion (bananas, pawpaws, avacodo e.t.c)last year not including coffee or tea which rake in more billions there. This is at least a double digit percentage of Kenyas gross product from two counties alone!! Na jembe tu! Does gaarment plough for them? What proceeds from coruption do this farmers get? What of mwea rice which was built buy paupers in the 70's, I used to pass there in the eighties and the kids all had marasmus and kwashikor, they are now rich people, pass by mwea and see, they are all rich, others have now diversified to tomatoes and melons in some dry areas there. Meanwhile Ahero rice scheme and dominion agricultural project killed by Tinga/ODM politics, fish cannot be sold outside nyanza for political reasons.

Hahaha.....trying too hard, indeed Lamu is number 4 richest county....ever been there!!!! I bet the 10 poorest in you list didn't conform to your thoughts thus you didn't put them here. The list does not in any way negate what CLK said above including jiggers that just won't go away!!!!!!

Lamu has a population of about 100,000 people and many hotels, on average these few guys share a lot of revenue from tourism and fishing, they all can eat fish and get more than a dollar a day doing odd jobs and dancing for tourist unlike some places. The prime consideration is LAMU PORT construction, when a major port is built where there are only 100k residents, projections are that they could potentially be the richest, it makes sense to project a place with a few thousand inhabitants owning a port,

So this is not real but projections, what about Turkana with the oil, Kwale with the trillions worth of minerals.....these two appear among the poorest, stop the obsession with this list, concentrate on where you belong or is there a county where you can beat every other inhabitant there in riches????

No, it is not projections but real, projections is for your benefit, i am asking you to project and see where Lamu will be vis a vis nyanza which should really be the richest by land, human resource, port, lake, e.t.c listen to this clip of Kenyatta who had eagerly tried to promote wealth growth in Nyanza and the roadblocks Odinga (KPU) put in his way because he was pocketing the residents via his money collection outfit aka KPU. Join Kidero Mr. wachana na hawa wengine, go to siaya and to give "serious talk about wealth".

Jomo pleading with nyanza to abandon KPU

They have not yet been freed!
