I must have dozed during the debate.

I then had a dream that Martha was quoting sections of the law which indiicate that Uhuruto should not hold public debate.

Then I woke up and found everyone saying she supported Uhuru!Liar d'oh!

If you watched NTV jana when they highlighted 10 things that were false, one of the things Martha was wring about was insisting that Raila did not support a local solution to the ICC cases, that was debunked, you wonder why she insisted on the same!!!!

@ Makerege ,peace Bro . This is what i have an issue with ,and i quote @Mukihas retrogressive thinking

Mather Karua: Not married; I believe that marriage has a way of moderating a person’s character...whenever I do things, I find myself considering whether my actions will embarrass my wife.

And now that is what i have a problem with. How many men have we heard out there ,saying and doing outragious stuff, without caring what their wives or kids think ?

Peace !

I am not violent, i am just challenging this retrogressive thinking- that a woman is defined by the marital status.Sometimes, even with the best of intention, marriages do not work.

I also mentioned on this thread that I do not not see the same harsh judgement directed towards divorced/separated or single men when they run for political office. It is the way we are socialised,it does not mean that we have to continue embracing and thinking that way, even when we know sometimes,it just has to be that way.

What exactly are you guys arguing about ? Do you realise how far back into the dark ages you take women with your stances?

In my places of work,i have come across many women,of different statuses, and i can tell you you that their performance was never judged by the status, and they all did well,in their various roles.

Move on guys, the time to kukandamiza women i s long gone, that is why they are the ones calling shots in many enviable positions- they never let this kind retrogressive stereotyping bother them - even when they are not married or separated.

I will tell you for fact,if it were not for UK,Hon. Martha would be up there in terms of support from the backyard. Any animosity she may face right now- on the ground-has nothing to do with her status- she led Gichugu for many years.

I rest my case.

@Amores; I think you are being too defensive of women to point of sounding harsh. In fact, you are completely missing my point because you are assuming that I am talking about marriage in reference to women only.

Calm down and see if you can understand what I meant when I wrote that "I believe that marriage can MODERATE A PERSON's character..."

I am talking about MODERATING, not weakening. And I am talking about a PERSON, not just a woman. Indeed, I go on to elaborate by stating that "...whenever I do things, I find myself considering whether my actions will embarrass my wife."

I am not saying this because Mather is a woman, or because she is divorced. I am saying it she is NOT MARRIED. All the other candidates are married and so they do not suffer this weakness.

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Then go back and edit your comment on Hon. Karua. Women all over the world and in this country have fought-hard- about some of these things including their rights and entitlements. To list presidential candidates and thrown in Hon. Martha in the light of JUST marital status is retrogressive. This is my opinion, you have yours.

Peace brother
