Their supporters had seized properties belonging to Kibaki's tribesmen whom ODM propaganda had painted as beneficiaries of govt funding through Equity Bank. Blaming Kivuitu is scapegoating!! After all the mess; it required some one of Kivuitus character to accept the blame and give the country a chance to move on.
Kibaki supporters believe that Raila started the stealing. Raila supporters believe that Kibaki started it. But the two camps prefer to heap the blame on Kivuitu... it is easier that way. And Kivuitu has chosen not to engage in shouting march with politicians...for the sake of the nation. Nonsense, if both sides cheated then he shouldn't have called it for one side. He dropped the ball big time and thats probably whats killing him. I have no sympathy for him. "The purpose of bureaucracy is to compensate for incompetence and lack of discipline." James Collins

I lay the blame squarely on Orange Hse and the one man who could have stopped the violence- Raila Amolo Odinga.

Kivuitu should have stopped it by stating that both parties were involved in rigging; in view of this he should have declared he is unable to verify who the true winner was and washed his hands from it. If things were not going as expected, why state it the go ahead and the go ahead and declare one the winner. Or is it a question of who rigged less? Please, please don't give this man, RAO, too much credit. What do you mean he is the only man who could have stopped the violence? Who powerful is this man, surely?

Watu wangechinjana chinji chinji. Regardless of what happened, there was going to be chaos courtesy of the hate campaign which peaked btwn 2005-2007.

No Raila No Peace goons would have listened to him if he had urged them to be peaceful. Wiper supporters were not engaging in rape, killings and arson, were they?

Question is did he do a good job and if he knew of the challenges he should have quit; period. It is called integrity. Again let me say this, you make RAO soo powerful, that what ever he wishes for goes. so if he say, 'No Raila No Peace'; it goes. No authority to challenge that and ensure peace prevails. Spare me.

Kifaki f@#$ed up in constituting the ECK, he did worse than Moi who accented to the 1997 IPPG agreement....this was the actual cause of the violence, Kifaki stuffed his men in ECK to steal the elections!!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".
